and three more hatching so cool

Okay- are there rules set out for best hatch rate, such as discounting eggs that aren't fertile?

Next question, shall we take pics, update, etc. as the bake-off progresses?

I was delighted to see a younger Marans has gifted me with a pullet egg in the middle of the run yesterday- cute little chocolate egg. I'll put that in my batch, so I'm nearly up to 30 eggs if I put in some old EEs from the eggbasket.

I wish now I'd separated all of the different colors of Faverolles and d'Uccles, but it's cold, and they're little. I wish the Isabel Orps were closer to laying age, too- I'm really hankering to get those little babies!!

Yes I have a question about the rules also. If you are giving a prize for the first chick hatched after midnight, which time zone? or one for each time zone?

I picked up my first eggs hatching eggs last night for my new to me Hovabator 2362 N. I got 11 BO and 3 Ameracauna, I just need to come up with 18 more, to give me a better chance for my first hatch.

I may be going to Trader Joe's if my other leads do not pan out.
