Mahonri's 2nd Annual NYDHatch, watching them grow...

Well I am in at noon with a dozen E.E. eggs. *sniff

My Araucana and FBCM eggs are delayed, I guess.

I just got back from examining the still empty post office box.

Hopefully Monday...

I am so prompt in shipping, why can't other ebay sellers be the same...

Best wishes for great hatches to all!

I need a glossary to figure out what all these chicken breeds are that people are setting!!! I have no idea what most of the acronyms stand for......LOL.

Can anyone point me to a list soemwhere that explains what they mean? I'm lost trying to figure out just what everyone is going to be hatching!!

Well, Phooey.

Put me back down to 38 eggs- I forgot the Barred EEs in my haste to get in out of the cold, and then dropped one as I came back in- the one remaining won't be set until later, because it's SUPER COLD! I'll still add it, though.

I'm not going to win any hatch rate prize, as the wind egg, the multi-yolker and the pullet eggs are unlikely...but how much fun is this, anyway?!?

I may mess this up, But My black copper hens are covered by a fabulous blue copper roo. Been geting some great blues out of this. My wellie are pure, I think there are 4 on there, My barnies are covered by a really good Fblue splash maran. The few that I have out of this cross are neat. I have 15 of those due to hacth next Sunday and most of the lighter and speckled eggs in this bacth are of that cross. I don't have a Barne roo, and will be working on blue laced barnies .

I think it's too cold there for those beautiful dark eggs. You must send them to me for safekeeping. And apparently I still have room in my bator, I didn't realize it was a duplex until I saw Mahonri's double stacked eggs.

It's... uhm... super warm here in Maine. Yeah. So send them.

Great job on the pics by the way

OH MY GOSH!!!

That is seriously one of the most funny and creative things I've seen in a while! I seriously was thinking it was real until I saw the date and "New Year's Eve".

Wow, warden... fantastic job!!!

Hilarious!!!!!!!

We still need numbers.

How many were set.
Guess on how many Mahonri will hatch and first 3 breeds.

Nifty mentioned that perhaps the hatch participants... especially frequent posters could put a link to Post#1 in your personality like I did. Spread the word that Non-hatchers can get a GFM by guessing 'How many chicks will Mahonri hatch... then guessing the first three breeds out)

At Nifty's suggestion I put Mary's Newspaper report in the first thread....

Hilliarious!

We have our thermometer sitting on top of the canning jar we are using for a heat sink-could you do something like that? Good luck!

No room , I rearranged with the digital at the front of the turner where there is room and I see others put theirs . The old school is riding on top of the eggs ; it reacts quicker to temperature change and I will shoot for a little over 100 . It was running very stable before adding eggs , I know it takes forever to restabilize after having the top off , so I will not worry .

In the mean time , my half grown pup that knocked my competer over this morning and has been outside already to relieve himself , decided to go again in his crate shared with his mother . She, still being motherly , cleaned up the wee ............. which made her sick .
Having forgot to eat breakfast myself , I cleaned up the mess with nothing worse than a few gags [ along with the spilled water bowl and kibble bowl which now extended the mess onto the carpet . Febreeze is strong in the air right now , I've got a headache for some unknown reason , but think things will look better once I drink my second cup of coffe [ I'm running about a quart low on my normal coffee level ] and fix a bite to eat . All is well , or soon will be [ Or as I hope and pray anyway ] .
