Mahonri's 2nd Annual NYDHatch, watching them grow...

I plan on keeping mine. All roos will be kept for the freezer.

I built a 3'Wx8'Lx3'H cage with chicken wire and hardware cloth that goes in the coop and once the chicks are fully feathered I put them in the coop: less mess and less dust in the basement!

ETA: Oh yeah, all of mine are named (27 so far) except for the 6 W/BW Ameraucana girls...I can't tell them apart! LOL

Of my 13 w/bw pullets I have 5 of them named. Mostly the BW's because they all have their certain characteristics. I'm looking at doing leg bands this year and then when they start laying, I've got to figure out who is laying what so I know who to keep and who to let go.

I'm so happy I'm going to bed early tonight... and that my sinus' are getting better.

I'd much rather have incubitis rather than sinusitis.

Good evening everyone!

Yup, I still got eggs. But don't worry, you only have to read about it for another 15 days.

First I will need to see what hatches, but if I am able to sell of a few chicks, and recoup any of the $31.00 that I spent on my first batch, it would be sweet. I am already planning my second hatch, some serama's, ameracauna's, and olive eggers.

Work, it gets in the way of chicken-ing, doesn't it? (Especially a new job)

Kathy.......you have insomnia too? Gosh, you and Mary are gonna be living it up while we're sleeping. I'm up early, but not THAT early.

Mahonri.....glad you're feeling a bit better. Hope you have a good night sleeping tonight.

I am here. Just finished feeding hte kids dinner, cleaning the kitchen, turning the eggs, dog/kid/chicken/garden chores, and am now sitting down to say hi to you all.

Had a rough morning with a nekkid toddler, and have apparently grinding my teeth all day. Little turd will turd his pants (on purpose) when he isn't getting his way.

Fabo.
