OK, I have several questions now, after seeing these descriptions.........
I know what a yolker and a blood ring are and what they are supposed to look like, but what does a 'scrambled' one look like when candled (not in a pan!)?? And what does a 'detached air cell' look like? Not that I would be able to tell myself even if I know what they are supposed to look like. This candling business is not so easy for this beginner. Mine never look like the pictures......
I did candle them tonight and attempt to figure out if they are good or not. But I really still don't know. All but one definitely are not clear looking like my eggs in the fridge, so I assume 'something' has happened/developed! But I don't see any movement, and I don't see any fetus shape in any of them. I DO see veins in most of them, and they are dark/dense instead of looking light all the way through. One
maybe has a blood ring, but not very sure about that. The only other time I've tried candling was when my broody hen hatched some chicks, and I never saw much of anything in those either. So, bottom line is that I guess I'll have to wait and be surprised on NY's - either in a good way or a sad way.
Last question: What is an Aloha egg?
Thanks! Sure enjoying this thread and being a part of the insaneness.
