Mahonri's 2nd Annual NYDHatch, watching them grow...

You're just fine . Is that DH watching over the shoulder , serving as supervisor to make sure you're not ordering more hatching eggs ?

Yep that is my beloved himself. And most likely he is thinking anti-chicken thoughts. (he is the voice of reason in our house - not me) No seriously, I went home for lunch (last of the rooster soup) and I mentioned that I might like to try quail as a food source. Surprisingly, he liked the idea. I will have to do some research and see if the quail are something we could do but...we will see.
Now you Steve - I want to see if there really is any resemblance to Homer Simpson???

Laree I think you should submit the second - just explain that it is your son "helping" them dust bathe. That is hilarious! See now, I knew my sons were perfectly normal. I went out yesterday and found my son riding his big wheel (he had his favorite pullet carefully stored in the compartment under the seat as he rode around) And for anyone concerned - we hardly take our eyes off of those two and it could only have been in there about 12 seconds. She seemed unphazed and hopped down and went off to look for some tasty grass.

That is ADORABLE! I just cannot believe the size discrepancy.

Thanks everyone

Good to see that everyone's doing well here. I quit trying to keep up with this thread a long time ago for obvious reasons, but it's nice to stop by a little.

OK I have an entry for the funniest chicken photo. Meet Tonya Harding Chicken - the blue andalusian who has never met a lap she didn't like. She loves to be rubbed behind her ears and on her belly.
