Mahonri's 2nd Annual NYDHatch, watching them grow...

Merry Christmas Eve everybody.

I can't believe my wife still wants to go shopping today.

With 7 kids it takes work and organization.

I hope that we can gather them this evening (minus the one in Hungary :0) ) and help them remember the reason for the season.

198 hours to go ; at Noon we'll have passed the 2/3rds of the way there mark with one week to go.

The countdown to 2011 has begun.

Have fun!!!

I cant resist candling the eggs again and again. I dont normally do that. This incubitis bug is bad. When the chicks come out they gonna want a pair of sun glasses for christmas, lol.

I got a rock stuck in my snowblower the first storm this year - had the great idea to try and snowblow. The ground hadn't frozen yet and I was flinging rocks, chicken poo and all kinds of leaves and sticks. The sparks when a huge rock got stuck in the auger were pretty though. Only a bit scary, since I had spilled gas all over the snowblower trying to fill it in the dark. (Yes, I learned my lesson)

At work now (until Monday at 0700)... boy is it busy so far this morning.

Okay just candled my buff eggs and saw some movement. The coolest thing in the world to see a chick swimming

Merry Christmas Eve, everyone!

At some point I promised the kids we'd make cookies for Santa, so I guess I will be cutting cookies and decorating all day...at least until this afternoon. My step-mom called last night and said, "You know Laree, if you want to bring your MIL tomorrow, we'd love to have her."

Me, "Bring her over to what?"

Her, "To dinner!"

Me, "What dinner?"

Her, "Oh! Didn't I invite you?"

Me, "No." (not really surprised, since this is her M.O.)

Her, "Well I have it every year."

Me, "So does everyone else."

Her, "Well dinner is at 3. We'll see you then!" *click*

I have not candled any of my 32, I keep saying I am going to, but than I do not. My temp has been a consistent 99, and the humidity has stayed in the mid 40's, so I am hoping for atleast average results next weekend.

Laree,

That sounds so much like my family.
Here is mine. Week before Christmas phone call.
Already told them I wanted to have Christmas with my mom and would come over for Christmas Eve to see them.

Step-mom: So I need you to bring a vegetable for Christmas dinner.

Me: We are having dinner with my mom this year.

Step-mom: Well I bought this Prime-rib roast just for you guys.

Me: I want to cook this year so I am having dinner with my mom at my house.

Step-mom: Fine then we will just have sandwiches. "click"
