Yea, that's a REAL surprise now!

Those temps are fine. Why ya messin' with them? The HovaBator will recover. I always feel if you are within 1 degree (above or below) you are doin' fine. I don't mess with mine. As a matter of fact I haven't even checked it for dayssssss!

I REALLY want all of those eggs in the hovabator to hatch.

I'm imagining less than 20 chicks now. I hope Laree does better than me. Happy New Year.

Ok, got them locked down. 10 into lockdown with 2 that I doubt but are hopefuls. 4 quail eggs went in too, but I did not count them in my originals and added them a day or so after the other quail eggs that people did for the NY hatch, so they dont count for the contest, but hopefully some cute fuzzies.

I'm imagining my first pip Friday afternoon at about 6 or 7PM

Positive thoughts......

Just had a violent shower go over. I've got to get some sleep!

Good luck with that since there are two and a half pages since I stopped checking last night.

Steve you might be right, 8000 might be too low!
Kathy I DO NOT want to hear about it being in the 50's in MO!

I just can't belive the differenct 900 miles north makes. We are at about the same elevation that we were in AZ so it is not that. I have been walking in a mucky, muddy mess for weeks. My pens for both the horses and the chickens have been wet and muddy since the week of Thanksgiving. The only time the poor horses get a chance not to walk around in mud is when it freezes. UGH The chickens don't mind the mud but won't walk in the snow. I guess I will have to get out there later today and shovel their pen. I don't have any hopes that this place will dry out until March or April

SCG I am in the same boat as you. I am not seeing any rocking and rolling and my eggs are too dark for me to know for sure if they were viable at lockdown. I think I might have seen a couple wiggle when I was transferring them to the egg carton for lockdown but nothing since. I am just trying not to worry about it too much. All of the eggs in lockdown were very dark (hoping that means they were full with a chick) with good air cells. I haven't had temp spikes and humidity up to yesterday stayed at 40% and other than losing power for about an hour early yesterday morning, it has been a very quiet incubation. I just worry that I did something wrong and I won't have any chicks on New Years.
Well time to go stare at the bator for a bit. Just give me one wiggle please!
