Mahonri's 2nd Annual NYDHatch, watching them grow...

Quote:
yeah, I sent them all to Mahonri. I only set three cracked eggs and two were infertile. I ordered MF cochin eggs from Lynn (wwmicasa1) and she also sent her barred buff split to black and barred black split to buff bantam cochin eggs. I shared the eggs with Kelly. I am really excited to see what they look like. I think I can keep some bantams now that I have a big covered yard, especially when the Icelandics move out!

DD got engaged on Christmas eve. Her guy has informed me that he is "all about those Icelandics!" He is insisting we keep ALL these chicks I am hatching.

I say, WHAT??? I think we need to share!

Mary, so glad that at least one waxed crack is still viable. Both of mine quit.

I have 11 of the 24 you sent that are still in there. I was amazed at how well you could see through those shells whle candling.

I've stopped telling my patients about my NYD hatch.

Are we really THAT WIERD????

I wonder what the dishwasher repairman will say when he sees a box full of chicks next to the dishwasher next week.....

Icelandics moving out?? If I could get my black cochins to quit being broody, I could send you some of their eggs if you want. I keep throwing them out of the nesting boxes, but it looks like I'm only mildly discouraging one of them so far.

I think Guiness would have to verify the hatch by sending inspectors to everybody's house/incubator, but it would sure be fun to put them to the inconvenience.

I want to be a meteorologist. At the beginning of the news the temp tomorrow night was going to be 23 to 29, halfway through it was going to be 22 to 29, at the end it is expected to be 19 to 29.

I'm guessing 28 here at my house... we'll see when I leave at 6:10AM tomorrow.
That will freeze my last two pepper plants that have been there since last January.

Kinda ironic , what with that line about not having to shovel sunshine .
