Well, I had pre-mature hatching ..

Went out this morning to cage up the little broody and she has two chicks .. One is yellow, one is chipmunk-ish .. they are cute ..

It's been fun!

I still have one pip and the eggs have moved a little what happens to me is that first pipper isn't the first one out it runs interference for 2 or 3 others to hatch that I didn't see a thing...I don't know how I would get a picture of anything in my China special anyways first hatches I couldn't see much it didn't have a window my hubby put 2 windows in but they are pretty small....

all I could look in was the forbidden hole

2 welding lenses added I can now shine the flashlight in

Well-the laptop died. So no all-night BYC for me.

Still only one pip, but it is bigger today!

It hard-froze last night. I had an inch of ice on the chicken waterers, and the hoses are frozen. The garden...well, it is trashed.

The chickens looked extremely grateful for the wussy-desert-chicken heat lamp I put out there

Two purdy babies fully hatched out yay! I've never had early hatches before, they were always late in my homemade 'bator. I love my new lil brinsea mini!

But the other three eggs (even tho I SAW them rocking) seem to be doing...nothing!
