I don't appreciate the insinuation that I photoshopped that in and lied about it, or that I can't tell the difference between my eyeball and a newly hatched chick's. Here is a close-up of the chick in question and it is very clear that it is the chick's eye, not mine or one I photoshopped in.

Here's the original, uncropped photograph in case you want to have it investigated forensically.

Here's the baby in question right here all fluffed and dried. Still think I'm lying?

Um

I've seen eyes like that before.

My grand daughter even made a comment about how that looked like a chick we hatched once and about how the I was the same.

Things look strange sometimes through a bator window, but you guys were joking right?

Ok I finally called my hatch done. I have 1 cute little chick. So I set 24 and hatched 1 that is a 4% hatch rate.

Mine were Coturnix quail and they were 2 days late. I carefully did eggtopsies to see why. I had 19 that were just a yolk!!!! Never developed. It made me feel better because I am hoping it was the shipping in cold weather that made them never start and not my fault. Do you think that could be why they never developed or did I mess something up in the very beginning?? I then had 3 that looked like they tried to start developing and maybe made it to day 3. I had 1 fully formed chick that never pipped the inner membrane. What causes that?

I have no idea how out of all that 1 made it through and developed into a healthy chick. Amazing. But now I need to get more so this one is not alone. I sure wish there was some close by.

I had lots of fun and I am ready to go again.
