Mahonri's 2nd Annual NYDHatch, watching them grow...

Mine are still hatching and more pips too for those of you thinking that it's a lost cause.....I had to take chicks out of one incubator it was crowded and I couldn't get the humidity back up so I just took the chicks out and the 2 eggs were pipped just not quite ready to hatch so I have the humidity @70 hoping they can make it out without help. The other incubator has turkey's pipping and just had another BR hatch see another IR pipped too. I'm tuckered out so I'm going to bed maybe all the rest will be hatched in the morning

I'm thinking this is one of my best hatches in a long time now it needs to slow down on the rain so we can get some pens done outside....

Don't touch! My last chick hatched about 8PM last night and I just had another one hatch now. Sometimes they take their time. The hatched one will be a cheerleader to get the other ones out!

Ok, on this thought, how long can they vary in between? With mine so far, 3 chicks hatched from sometime Thursday night and Friday noon and nothing since. No one else is pipped or anything. Since they have been in the same brooding conditions, I am in the mind that the remainder do not stand much chance, but am I wrong?

My first pip was around 3 in the afternoon of NYE and hatched around 3 a. m. , had some hatch within the hour , and I still have some both pipped and not pipped .

Ok.... they would not hatch last night at midnight while I was here... they HAD to hatch while I was at work all day!

Thank you. I was asked to stay late at work tonight and leave in 15 minutes, so now I am again eggscited to go home and check the hatcher.

Might be another long night.

I hear internal peeping. Sounds like just one, but my temps started spiking and humidity dropped to 50. I stuck the syringe in and added water and it's slowly creeping up.
