Mahonri's 2nd Annual NYDHatch, watching them grow...

Folks, your total number of eggs died/discarded should be the total number set minus the number you locked down, I think. At any rate it ought to include your infertile/yolkers.

Ok, that was very wild!! Somehow, while I was looking at the spreadsheet to see what everyone elses results were, I saw Kathys' numbers being updated.. It said user# 337 has opened the spreadsheet, then Kathys' numbers started changing.. Neat I guess!

Yeah, I use Google Docs to collaborate with other writers and it's always wild to see them typing and correcting mistakes while I'm working on it, too. I love it, but it is a bit surreal.

Laree :
I left 4 suspected clears in at lockdown , but called them clears on the sheet as it turned it they were .
I only had two fertiles that failed to pip and/or hatch .
Of the 15 hatchlings , 1 could not get on its feet , I culled it today when others started mobbing it ; 14 healthy living left .
If I need to edit the sheet , just to keep the record straight , let me know .

All things considered , I am very happy with the hatch

The one culled was one of the last 4 to hatch , and was a huge black colored chick ; I don't see how it could fit in an egg and/or have room to pip . It seemed healthy , but even when helped upright would just run forward and fall over on its back . I was going to give it a day , but the others must have known something was wrong with it so ................................ .
