Well, I am officially done with my hatch as of today. I had 2 eggs left in the bator that never hatched, so I unplugged it this morning. The eggs appeared full term at lockdown when I candled, so I don't know what happened or why they didn't hatch. I did not open them before tossing......guess I'm just chicken!
So, for my very first attempt at hatching, with my own backyard EE mutt pullet eggs, I ended up with 9 healthy active chicks. I feel very fortunate to have been so blessed with these little ones.
Here is my first one hatched:
Here are the first ones that what went into the brooder - it just cracks me up how they fall asleep standing up and then kind of 'melt'.....
I wanted to say Thank You to eveyone that was here, whether participating or just watching from the sidelines. It was great to have this comraderie from a group so large. I learned a lot and never was alone in this adventure.
Happy Hatching to all......
