java girl love the Scottie with the snowballs stuck to him/her. My dogs get them all over them and when they come in they leave puddles on the floor where they pulled the snowballs off.

We got a little more snow last night but it should melt by Sunday. Still keeping my fingers crossed that my turkey hen starts laying in time but pretty much expecting that she won't. I know someone suggested getting lights out to the coop (I apologize for forgetting who suggested it) but that won't work for her. The turkeys only go into the coop at night when the weather is the worst. Most of the time they roost on the top of one of my smaller coops so I wouldn't have a way to light up the whole pen. My chickens are finally really starting to lay again. I will be setting some of Renee's Konza eggs and some of my mixes. Not sure how many yet but it should be at least 24.

THANKS!!!!!!!!!! (HER) NAME IS STORMY, AND SHE LOVES THE SNOW SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!! BTW, I'm the one who said to put the light for your turkey hen

sorry you can't put the light on for her.

I go to see a doctor (or nurse practitioner) once a year, just to renew my Requip prescription (for Restless Leg Syndrome). That's it.

I went to see a young new doctor today. He and his wife are both physicians and new to the local clinic. B has seen his wife before and really liked her. Actually, I had no intention of going to see any doctor. They all ganged up on me around here, though. Mike, B, and Tyler, all threatened to take me to the ER. So, I agreed to an office visit.

I have been coughing my head off. It started a couple weeks ago, I suppose. It just keeps getting worse. If I dare to lay down, I have fits of coughing lasting forever. Last night I did get a few hours rest though. I took some NyQuil and slept in the recliner. I know my lungs are full of gunk. I can feel it.

So, I go to the doctor wanting some dang cough syrup..... that's all, just give me some cough syrup!
He doesn't like cough syrup! WHAT????? I want some cough syrup!

He proceeds to tell me that this gunk I have - started with a sinus infection that drained into my lungs and caused bronchitis. Bull-crap! I have never ever in my life had a sinus infection. NEVER! My ears started hurting today, too. Well now, I had suffered with earaches alot as a child, and a few times as an adult. He says my ears look fine. Well, then, why do they hurt? Yes, I had a headache (and I rarely ever have a headache). BUT, not a sinus headache. I know why I had a headache..... FROM COUGHING!

I also told him that the antibiotic I took in Iowa was Ceclor (as I am allergic to penicillin), and it was effective. "What?" he says. "That is not an antibiotic. It is a decongestant." No, sir, it is the antibiotic I took in the past. He looked it up. It wasn't on his cute little electronic gadget. So, he pulled out another thing a-ma-gig. "Oh, well, yes, it is in the cephalosporin family." YES, it is! "Oh well, the one I am prescribing is even better than that one."

So, here I am, at home, whining and complaining, with prescriptions for Prednisone, an antibiotic, and an inhaler.... AND NO COUGH SYRUP!

Kathy, you simply can't go to that Dr. again. Granted he's new, but if he didn't know that Ceclor is a cephalosporin AND a great antibiotic, he's dangerous.

What antibiotic did he give you?

If you can take a cephalosporin, I would be taking Ceftin.. especially if the infection has gone into your ears.

Call the clinic back and tell them you have to have a codiene based cough medicine.... tell them that's what you came in for in the first place and have your pharmacy number ready to give them.

Good grief... wish you lived in Phoenix, I would have already called it in for you.

I'll be praying for you, I'm thinking you have more than bronchitis... probably pneumonia....

.... and yes you can have a low grade sinus infection that can go into your lungs... so he might have been right in that instance...

Call the office and ask them to prescribe Tessalon. Best thing ever for coughs, and I've had the same cough as you for weeks now. Maybe a month or more.

btw, the prednisone made me gain a TON of weight I can't get off now and didn't do a thing for the cough.
