Mahonri's 3rd Annual, BYC Easter Hatch-a-long!

We had some pretty bad weather in west central/ central Indiana today, but southern IN got some horrible storms. I spent the day in Indy picking up some birds from a fellow BYCer and came home to tornado reports just miles from where my family and my in-laws live. All have reported some damage, but everyone is safe. My grandparents lost a couple friends from their church though. Very sad.

I've been looking at the pics on msdnc and it's just devastating. My heart and prayers go out to all of them and it makes me count my blessings. So glad you were safe.

Glad your family is okay. So sad for your grandparents, though. Hope cleanup goes well and that not many families are displaced.

I'm glad to hear you and your family are all safe. Please tell your grandparents that people they don't know, in places they've never heard of, are praying for them and the families that lost loved ones.

I will add them in with the duck egged. Them to a hatcher... The chick eggs that is. I will try to get on and join tomorrow. One of my geese has been laying for 7 days no. Hubby put on in the frig so it is a goner. Think I have six now. Turned on the bator yesterday to stabilize

Most Ingenious Chicken Design Contest WEEK ONE CONTEST
During week 1 of incubation (17 to 23 March), post a picture and brief explanation of your cool brooder / feeder / waterer / saddle / whatever that you created for your fowl. Once the contest ends they'll be put on a BYC poll for the kind folk of BYC to vote for a winner.
Prize: A copy of Gail Damerow's Chicken Health Handbook, which he/she will surely appreciate being such a witty chicken-fancier.

You know, we are having a contest for that kind of thing!!

Well,,,,If you insist....

Made from all recycled materials (except for the pipe clamps, mine were too small). DH put ithe deer feeder on the scrap pile because the motor burned out, the pipe was laying around and the feeder and 's' hook were on a shelf in the feed room. It will hold up to 200 lbs of feed! I keep it under a shed were the tractor is parked so the rain will not wet the food.
