Maine Chicken stocks, Swaps and shows August- Dec 2012 -- update is on post #125, p, 13

Thanks I know where it is. I lived in Augusta for 4 years, 25 years ago. Not far from the Civic Center. I might go to the meet if I can get away from quilting for a day. My business picks up this time of year as it gets closer to Christmas.
I actually went to the Augusta swap on Saturday and it has really died down. Only a few vendors mostly with roosters. One lady was selling honey and threre were a couple bantams and even an african gray parrot. I went to buy not sell. Last month it was really hopping but I think the shows are keeping everyone occupied now. I did the TSC in Wilton/Farmington this morning. I was selling Red Star pullets. It was me and another couple selling baby bunnies. It was really dead. I did sell 5 pullets to one guy and met a really nice couple who want some next week. I only stayed 2 hours. I think swaps are pretty much over for the season. I have much better sales right here on my little micro farm.

an update of what birds are for sale at the windsor fair show:
trio of partridge cochins bantams, white call ducks, black rosecombs, plymouth rocks bantams, buff orpington roo, partridge plymouth rock standard size and a silkie. I expect more sale birds to come in tomorrow.

Anyone have info on who will be showing chickens at (and maybe, what they are bringing) the Common Ground Fair? I try to go every year and always enjoy seeing the different chicken breeds. Might be a pick up point for purchase? Currently looking for a bamtam (preferable, silkie, esp a blue) setting hen or older pullet.
