This is what I was told by an official, he said it would be 2 weeks before he could find out more. I felt as if I was helping us out, or what the loop hole was. I am so sorry I said anything and I'm done.

I, for one am glad spook tried to find out about this Maine Law.

Bravo!!! spook for your initiative and work not only for an enjoyable chickenstock in Oxford but meeting all the great people there including yourself and looking to the future for more chicken swaps meets.

Thanks again for looking into this problem and perhaps we can get a clear answer from the state.

I'm sorry spook that you feel this way and I don't know who said what to get you so upset, but we all realize you are trying to help, as are many others on this board including those from NH to which other maine laws apply (needing health certs within 10 days to bring their birds to chickenstock).
I know, no one wants to open that can of worms but truthfully, I'd rather know the law then to be ignorant and have us, as a group, look bad. WE are trying to bring more backyard flocks and happiness to others.

Unfortunately this thread has taken a sad turn, and hurt feelings in the process. I don't know why it is so important to some of you to 'prove' Spook wrong, she's right....and now we're done with this thread. I hope none of you who choose to defy the law get into trouble, but I'm pretty sure you will.
