ATLANTA (AP) -- An Iowa company has dramatically expanded a recall of eggs linked to a salmonella outbreak in at least four states.
Wright County Egg initially recalled 19-million dozen-egg cartons. The recall is no up to 380 million eggs.
Wright County Egg is one of the largest egg producers in the country. The New York Times reports that it is owned by Jack Decoster who used to own the Decoster Egg farm in Turner. Decoster has had run-ins with regulators over poor or unsafe working conditions, environmental violations, the harassment of workers and the hiring of illegal immigrants.
