Will anyone be going to the swap in Brunswick 9/3? I have 3 BLRW roos and one silkie roo I'm hoping to "rehome".
Very nice guy
Super sweet, very quiet, and does his job well. He'll be about 6 months old by the swap.
He has the right number of toes, but I think his comb is the wrong color? IDK?
The BLRW boys will be about 9-10 weeks old by the swap. All 3 are very good natured, true to breed
All are healthy, wormed regularly, well fed, and handled daily. Kid, dog, and cat friendly.
If anyone else is going I'd love to know what you're bringing

update: the TSC swap is really a farm swap on the sept 10th. they are having a horse rescue come as well as someone that makes goats milk soap and milk. all animals are welcome but it's really geared for farm animals including poultry. we will have a poultry swap on sept 11th as well.

True that Hoppy, it doesn't matter who does a meet, where, when or whom, its all good! I would honestly love to see someone else do my 2 swaps, I'd pass along the sign, any and all suggestions that I may not have given out, although if asked how, I'd tell anyone! (or at times, where!)
I enjoy being part of that group that just goes to wander and chat, its so fun, but when you have a table, you really cannot just wander around without someone with you. The TOPS group at the Oxford Chickenstock did amazing! I believe it was donation of around $175. That will come in handy for those bills that clubs must pay. Its looking as if I'll be doing a Season Finale where tag sale/yard sale items are welcome with other critters. Its pretty neat, TY NH group for beginning that tradition.
A huge thing that I cannot stress enough is that animals should have food and water available at all times. Its humane in these settings where folks are bumping the cages, waving hands, allowing dogs to rush in at them to allow the small comforts of food. I have had to remind folks, offer feed and shavings frequently to folks, yet to leave critters in the back end of a truck, below breeze line, no food or water for at least 4 hours to my knowledge. Sickening, I'm not perfect, but if you can only pass on to the public, full water dishes and food. (off my stupid soap box)
Now, I'm a sucker, I may complain to you guys, but I bought 2 birds, nice looking standard Polish birds. Told they were pullets, pet quality, mutt Polish. They are the furthest thing from pullets. (yes, please, you can laugh if you like) both are beautiful cockerels. So, on that note, if you have or anyone has Polish pullets, I'd like to have a pet quality one in trade, or buy.
Does anyone know how Polish roos are?

Oh, Polish roos...they are silly. I'd call them clowns. They can have a tendency to get picked on by other breeds. My silkies, of all things, will pick on the polish...

Ive also raised Polish roosters, mine were all very friendly. They housed with my silkies because they all had about the same attitude, very laid back.
depends on the polish roos. my boy was hand raised alone for too long and now he only gets along with me, dh and the dog when it doesn't want to play rough or chase him! (this is Chickie my namesake on here). i had another polish cockerel and he was a very sweet and lovely boy but got heavily picked on by my other birds and lost most of the middle of his crest at one point. he has since been re-homed but i have seen him since and he is still a very nice boy and gets along ok with the other polish roos the lady keeps him in with.

I still have 1 male Embden and 2 female pilgrim geese if anybody is interested. I will sell all 3 for $25, if someone wants to come pick them up! My Emden is my favorite but dosnt get along with my 3 yr old son
He gets along with everyone else though, even my 6yr old daughter.
