Maine Swaps 2011

Jen, I didn't disagree with you Jenn, I was kinda waiting for the man I bought them from to fess up, never did. I know now not to believe that man. He forgot he told me that a week prior how to sex and changed his tone to say they were mutt Polish and sometimes the gals have weird hair do's. hummm. To be honest, I felt bad for these two, no water, food and just seemed to have the lowest place in the yard. I am searching for a couple Polish hens or pullets. Just because I love the personality, so far- ha ha, and there is a man at the end of the summer that doesn't have an issue with who he processes. Hey, they may not be a large bird but I bet they would make a decent broth.
Oh, btw, those two fella's

the standard sized Cochin's! Oye, what type of chick could we develop?!

(Not being upfront when selling birds only hurts the person that sells the birds, reputation goes a long way and you can work with honest folks. Eh, I'm glad I picked them up, they are really a fun addition!)

SuperChemicalGirl, I have to report that MaryAnne the larger dark pullet is a riot! She plays bashful and then she is a giant up beside her "sister" and other hens of ours. And Ginger is in Love, absolute love. The blue Polish is her crush! She follows him around and they talk, he finds good treats for her. Trollop! I must say, you have nice birds, healthy and I appreciate your quick work of filling my request of a couple chickie poos! Like I say, reputation sells a lot more birds down the road, I'd definitely buy from you again! Thank you!

I am in Livermore

Thank You, it may be a little further for me to travel but I'll check with the wife and see about getting them.

That would be great!

I might be able to help. I travel between CMCC and Topsham 5 days a week. I could meet someone at CMCC and then you could pick the chickens up in Topsham. It would cut some of your travel, maybe an hour and a half. Just a thought

I have an easter egger, FatOne, that is in L.O.V.E. with my turken rooster. I don't know what she's doing but she'll crawl underneath him (he's tall) and hang out between his legs and preen him. It's sick to watch but hilarious. Though she's been broody now for about 8 weeks - I promised her that next time I'll give her an egg to hatch but she still won't give up. She could hatch an Emu! She's spent many days on multiple occasions in a wire cage in my basement, only to return immediately to her empty nest when she's placed back in the coop. I don't know what to do with her. My boyfriend says it's time to get her a chick, but I don't think anyone's hatching right now. Anyone have chicks of any type of (legal) fowl?

And your thoughts are very nice to hear, thank you. Did the one end up being a covert rooster?
