Maine

Right now I have three dogs trying to occupy the same space on the couch. The pit is squeezed in behind me. The Ibizan is on top of her and partly on top of the potcake. The potcake is squashed up against me. I am slowly being pushed off the couch. I think I need a bigger couch.

... or another goat.
Nope. The chair in the living room is for the pyr. Not that all five dogs have not been on the couch at the same time. The elkhound has claimed the other end of it right now. Thank goodness the horses stay outside. I would end up sleeping in the truck. Oh wait the turkeys have claimed that as their base of operations. At least the outside of the truck. Although I am sure that if I left the door open they would move right in.

The goats here are constantly trying to sneak in the house. My favorite chicken used to sneak in the garage and then go up the stairs to the door to the main house and wait there, in hopes that I'd just let her in. I miss that imp.

Coopchick, the Ivermectin will treat both the mites and some worms. Is the worm round? It's not a flat tapeworm, is it? I hear tapeworm is harder to eliminate. Supposedly, if you have never wormed before and suspect a heavy worm load, people suggest starting with Wazine. I've never done that. I used Valbazen, as recommended by SCG, along with Ivermectin because mine had mites too. Not sure where you live, but you are welcome to have some Valbazen.

I found worms on the poop board recently, but no one is acting sick. I'm trying to hold off on worming them because they are mid-molt, but hope to do it soon. I would treat my whole flock. I think all wormers have a withdrawal period.

Yes, bucka the worm is round. I have never wormed them. I have found no other worms on the roosts and no one else is acting sick. I work in Augusta. I think I will try the Wazine first

I would treat all your birds.

Usually it's a heavy worm load if they're pooping them out. I'd Wazine them first. Then treat with at least 2 cycles of albendazole. If you have mites you can do a dust or you can do ivermectin pour on.

At least, that's what I do.

There is a recommended withdrawal of 2 weeks after each treatment for eggs.
Thanks for the advice SCG!

Any thoughts on this eye? She is keeping it closed but does open occasionally.

Coopchick, I did find out there is a wormer with no withdrawal period, (of course, now that I navigated away from the page, the name flew out of my head, but I am posting a link) and Wazine and Valbazen are both safe "first time worming" drugs. I think the no withdrawal drug comes up on page 3, and there is a good discussion of worming in general. It seems there is a wide range of opinions on the subject. I'm not really sure about the eye. Hopefully someone else will know. Good luck with them!

As far as the eye goes, if she doesnt have any other symptoms (sneezing, stuff coming out of "nostrils") I would just use a warm damp cloth to rub over it 2-3 times a day and try to keep it clean for her. If she has other symptoms you may want to consider a systemic antibiotic if she doesn't improve soon.
