Maine

The third and final pullet at point-of-lay right now has finally started laying. Since she began we get about 2 eggs a day. We check twice a day but sometimes they still freeze. Why does the snow have to come back when I want to collect for incubating?!?!?

Congrats! What ya hatchin'?

Got my 1st ever Johnny Seed catalog. ...wow!!!! My list is crazy!!!! I need to choose for both human and chicken consumption. We have always had a Gd size veggie garden but with basic veggies. Since my NY resolution is eating healthy and more natural I want to have a gd selection. What does everyone plant for their flock??

My first came yesterday and wow is right! I had no idea there were so many choices. I now totally understand the seed catalog addiction. :)

Beautiful post! They do love fruit for sure. Mine love bsnanas so thats where the really dark ones go. I have been working so much I've only seen the chickens at 5 am and 730 pm to make sure they have food snd collect eggs. Have a great day everyone

Unexpected day off. My 11yo has been crying that her back hurts and can barely move. It's so hard with her as she is always crying wolf. But I will be making my list as I have time now ;)

@suzMEchicks I'm the same way. I can't wait for longer daylight so I can see them more.

Thanks for all the replies and suggestions.

I'm getting 1-3 goose eggs daily, 3-4 duck eggs daily, and still ZERO chicken eggs. But, I am hopeful. The girls have been out in the yard all week, as opposed to staying in the coop. Here's hoping they start laying soon.
YOU ARE GETTING GOOSE EGGS!? That changes things a bit here. I figure it'll be another four weeks before I see any. A lot of good my pens'll do me. I just had one pair fly over the fencing. I think I am going to have to go cut some feathers on that pair. They really are stinkers.

Be careful she doesn't have a UTI. They can be had without urethra symptoms, as in be just in the kidneys and the tell is the back pain.
