Maine

Anyone know of duck breeders in Maine? I only want 2 ducklings, and all the feed stores require you purchase 6 which I don't need. And to order from a hatchery is a minimum of 3 but the shipping is expensive.

I would love muscovies or khakis.

Odd trick for today: using your incubator as a seed germinater. I have used it for yogurt and a brooder and I have no successfully started seeds with it. The house fluctuates a lot with the wood heat but having those seeds on a constant heat source is helpful. Onions? check. Pansies... just set on there today. This makes me wonder if I can use my yogurt maker to hatch eggs! lol

I forgot to add that chicks are hatching a day early here! One out, one zipping and five more pipped. The one out today is another for my Marans project. Yey.

DowGirl: EE half sister in a round about Aubuchon kind of way.

Ash, do you put your seedling trays on top of the incubator, or in it? I have my pepper and tomato seedling flats tucked under the wood stove for now. Congrats on your early hatch.

Eggies are at half way point today. Still 26/28 at last check. They're definitely growing.

I'll be hatching out some Swedish Blues in a month or two. I have a grey swedish drake, so they will be true blue.
