Maine

I read the site you gave a link to and she said the cattle panels were heavy all by themselves. I read that paddock rotations were easier/advantageous.

QUESTION: does anyone have a good alternative to blu-kote? I know you can use the paint used to seal trees but I don't have that either. I wondered if Desitin or A and D would cover a bald patch enough for feathers to grow back? This little polish needs to get some feathers on her head!

Anyone need a GLW or a Partridge Rock roo ? I really want to get a couple more girls, but I need to make room first. Hoppy, are you going to the swap tomorrow ? What are you going to bring ?

So cute, PollyC!
We got our first batch of Bantam chickens at the Scarborough farm swap yesterday, I'll have to post pics later today.

I am looking for references for a good rabbit vet in the Brunswick/Freeport/Portland area. It is time to get my Baxter altered...

though the thought of getting him a little lady friend is MUCH mor tempting...

So.. I went to the swap yesterday! I did pretty good, got some cool little bunnies! I don't think I will be going to anymore any time soon, but I had a lot of fun!

Anyone want my cold ? Its free even to a bad home. I have so much I wanted to do this weekend but I'm good for ten to fifteen minutes at a time before I have to sit and rest.

I started on the grow out pen. It is the dog kennel that I've had for over ten years. I can make one giant 18x18 pen or divide it up into three 6x18 pens. I'm just trying to engineer a top for it. I have a couple ideas so it will be interesting to see if either one works. Now I just have to get rid of the wonderful black flies that exist just to annoy every other living creature.

Yesterday I did manage to plant geraniums for Memorial Day. Too many relatives but considering I'm the youngest of seven and my parents were both around 50 when I was born it isn't surprising that my aunts, uncles and grandparents were either already gone when I was born or passed away soon after. Yet I am the only sibling who even bothers with the flowers. The rest of my family doesn't even know where the graves are. Expect for my parents' grave. One of my sisters takes care of that every year. One of the saddest headstones I take care of is that of my three great uncles. The oldest was only seven years old when he died. His brothers were three and two months. They all died within a five year span back in the late 1800's. I can't imagine how my great-grandparents were able to deal with so much loss in such a short time.

I can empathize Widget, I was going to the swap yesterday, then to help set up for the CMBF show in Windsor, and back out today for the show, and instead I have been sick all weekend. It was not the way I was planning on spending my long weekend.

So since I couldn't make the Augusta swap and now can not make the Windsor show

I have decided to put lots of pictures of my birds up here for everyone to get sick of... well, actually, I was hoping that maybe it would make me feel better and some of you wouldn't mind too much.
Today was a major leap in integrating chickens. More fights than I'd like. And not from places I expected. I don't know how long to let these things go on. I read about it in here and other chicken rags but it still tough to let go for more than a minute.

Moving on the pictures...

This is a silly picture but I had to share it. For the first day, hot day, Broody came out on her own and I only knew because of all the noise she was happily making taking a dust bath. This is my other Lav helping out :)

A poor picture of one of my blacks but they just won't hold still! Still no pics of the Splash girls.

The Polish is SO funny. I love her color.

Breda is very interesting. Hard to get a good pic but she is in rough shape anyway. She will be very pretty when her feathers all grow back in. Hoping for a molt here.
On to the babies!!

My one little Silver Laced Polish

One of the Mottled Houdans...
Welsummer baby and...

Cream Legbar! I have others but that's probably enough for now.
Thanks for letting me feather-vent :)
