The slicky looks like the one you brought out and showed me when I picked up the eggs, OMG just so cute, I have a lighter colored one also but doesn't look like this one. I am pretty sure the slicky hatched out of the last egg you put in the carton that had a little blood on it and you thought she (yours) had just laid it.......

you want to cross the smooth with a curly feathered bird. the curlys you can cross with either a silkie or a smooth, I'll pm you.

My aunt and mother hav decided to find a new home to their little flock of chickens. They have 5 hens (one of whom just hatched out 2 chicks) and a rooster. I am not entirely sure of the breeds they have. I know one is a barred rock, and atleast one of the hens is a rhode island red, then they have 2 they call "the twins" that are 2 little red colored ladies (it was one of these ladies that just hatched the chicks) and the rooster they were told was an "amer-i-cuans"...so of course I really couldnt tll you what he is. He is a large, black fellow with that lovely beetley-green ting to his feathers and he is very good at taking care of his ladies. They get a RIDICULOUS amount of eggs from the girls and everyone is pretty well socialized. They are free for the taking in Durham but my aunt and mother have both specified that they cannot go to be someones dinner and they would prefer to keep the flock together. If you are interested, just send me a pm and we can make the arrangements. They would like them gone soon as it is getting closer to cold weather and that is when it get harder for them to care for them.

I just love that smooth khaki (slicky??) is that one of mine?

Um, yes, I am loving this one too. I want one just like it!!

Maybe I don't know my colors like I think but isn't this a chocolate not kacki? I know, hoppy, you know so much more than me but isn't kacki more like grey? It is in the polish. One pic looks chocolate and another kacki. What happened in the pics??

So... pictures. Here are a few of the new birds. I got a few Russian Orloffs (spangled) and two Marloffs (MaranxOrloff).

Young Orloff Cockerel and RO pullet

Orloff chick and Marloff chick... both unsexed

I also got two more younger pullets but they aren't very camera friendly.
