HI all...new to CHICKENS. The coop is up and ready, small, 3 x 6. I have three silkies coming tonight (2 mos who knows? and a 5 month rooster) and am looking for four good, hardy laying or dual purpose pullets to complete my beginner flock. I would LOVE some egg color diversity...but, the most important thing is great EGGS! We love them and eat lots.

Where would I go to get some great layer pullets to add to my flock? I live in Palermo and work in Augusta.

I'll pm youwith some private info but just to add publicly, there is a poultry show this sunday at the windsor fairgrounds, free to get in to see the show, coop in by 9:00 am and judging starts at 9:30. there will be birds for sale as well and I go get the link to post here for who is bringing what if it's listed.

My chickens are so happy today. They're all out there sunbathing last I checked, and I don't blame them! It's beautiful out!!


Have to go back tomorrow for another ultrasound for baby, hoping I can get a gender sneak peek while there.

thanks- the rest of them decided they didn't want their photos taken today- too busy sun/dust bathing- they all have somewhat "normal" names too.

OH I was a bit surprised this morning- Ginger the Buff Orp flew out of the run today- she's a big girl, I didn't think she had it in her- the fence is about 5 feet 6 inches...- 4 more decided to follow too...guess I need a top. Not that they are ever in it much- just when we go away so it's easier for whoever chicken-sits....
