Maine

Went out this morning to feed everyone and the ducks and a few of the chickens were frost covered. No one seemed the worse for wear and all were active and alert this afternoon. I don't shut them in the coop at night so they have free range of the covered pen. Guess those feathers really do insulate. Although for winter I will try to get the coop part a bit more insulated than it is.

my turkey was almost an early t-day dinner. I think my dog bit him, darn dog! I have taught him chickens are off limits and he was good with the turkey in the group 2 days ago, but last night, turkey was missing and found lots of feathers. found him alive hiding under a bush with wounds on his back. dogs were very interested in the area where I found the feathers so I can't rule out that it was something else but I can't exclude the dog either. he survived the night but he looks very sore.

Such beautiful birds, Hoppy! My little buff silkie I got from you (Pollyanna, she is just a little ray of golden sunshine) has become the favorite of my young CLB roo. He forgoes the roost to sleep by her at night on the top of the nest box.

Very nice photography. I wish they had used a different ground to play up the beautiful white of your splash. Very nice. I don't think I want to see OOB repeated in the chicken world. Can you imagine... "Her fluff was so big it just HUNG out of that thong! What was she thinking!?" The bra however... on a 'Showgirl' is a must. Still waiting.

unfortunetly it was one standard color for all the birds having their pics done. it looks great on my blue hen.
