Maine

I am taking a bus trip to Maine in September. My co-worker and I host it. She has already told me that we are not bringing back any chickens

however, I am wondering who might have some eggs from their NPIPed flock that I cannot live without

So...whatcha got? I will be staying at the Elmwood Resort in Wells, Maine.

my 2 light brahma standard pullets (about 2 1/2 months old) got sick and died within the past 2 days, I have 3 more pullets that have 1 watery eye, but they are eating and drinking! I separated them into another cage, and we will see what happens! I have been feeding, watering and keeping them very clean! I have no idea what could Have caused this!

I'm looking for a couple of Golden Laced Wyandotte pullets. I'm in the the Berwicks, southern Maine bordering NH. If you have any or know where I can get some I'd appreciate the info.
Have a great day all you Mainiacs.

Hello fellow Mainers. After investigating backyard chickens (much from this site) for about a year, we got our Buff Orpingtons at the end of May, and they just moved out into our newly built (and well insulated) chicken coop two days ago. I was so worried about predators that I even installed a baby monitor to hear if there is any commotion at night during lights out.

Why is it as soon as I get the brooder cleared out of peeps more little ones mysteriously appear to take their place? I know it is called chicken math.

Today the six bourbon red turkeys graduated to the outdoor coop. And as soon as the brooder was cleaned the 11 mystery chicks I was given two weeks ago went into the big brooder. And in the incubator I have two muscovy eggs from my own birds and about two dozen silkie eggs. They are due to hatch in about ten days. So far only one silkie egg doesn't appear to be developing. But in the land of chicken math I don't think silkies count so I'm okay.
