Grace you didn't spark anything. Someone in another Maine linked thread came into the thread announcing themselves as a farm proud to be breeding AmerIcaunas. Um, nope. How DO you spell it anyway? I've always typed americauna, but have no idea which is correct.I have both Ams and EEs here, makes for fun times! lol That assuming I'm using the correct definition for EE's anyway. For that matter, what would I call my chicks that are an am/orp cross? They have beards, peacombs, and I'm assuming would lay green eggs (hens both lay blue). Would they be EE's, or x/x cross?![]()
Like I said, though, education is important in what I do and a big part of having this farm. To answer your question, the best thing you can do, rather than label a bird EE which is also a term that has many problems btw (it can be an unrecognized color, poor quality Am or a mix so its used way too liberally at this point) is to just call them crosses, or say Orp Am cross. That gives folks more information anyway and it shows you know what you are doing or what you are doing it with anyway. This is just my opinion but I think well of it

well I look forward to seeing him then and too bad you can't make the spring show.
