No issues in the winter. Not that she is like the Pyr and will stay out for hours in the snow but she loved to go out and play for a bit. The pit is the one who has the insulated dog coat to wear in the really cold weather.

PS - we saw a Silkie Roo like your Avatar picture for the first time at a Tractor Supply poultry swap and , how amazing. So gorgeous, even the crowing was such a sound to hear. Love them !
Would you call it George?????????That little wrinkled face makes me want to kiss it and pet it and love it and call it.... mine!![]()
I should think so... with all of the law suits related to gender discrimination, I'm sure the ACLU or some such other organization will be knocking on your door. On the other hand, save your nicest black roo for a couple of years. Teach him some nice manners with the girls, and I'll borrow him for my breeding program in 2015!LOL Georgia maybe if it were a gal but I am not a fan of George. I name animals as they 'feel' to me if that makes sense. The chickens that had names had happenstance names. Ruck ruck and Henny Penny, and then there were two that were just called their breed. It happened as a silly accident. Polish knew her name though. Ruck ruck was silly because that was the sound she made on the nest. I would call that puppy "cute" for sure.
I think I have managed to hatch all boys in my small group of new Ams. Isn't that illegal?
Awwww...both pretty girls!! Jadzia looks like my sister's dog who came from a Puerto Rico rescue as a puppy. She is the sweetest dog too! She's 8 now.The first I ever heard about them was way back in 2002 when the shelter in Kennebunk had two puppies up for adoption on their website. I ended up adopting one. While very shy around strangers Sarah proved to be very smart, playful and an overall great dog. Her ideal weight is about 40 pounds. Now at 12 1/2 she has slowed down and is showing her age. She does have hypothyroidism and heart issues. I know it won't be long before she makes that one last trip to the vet but she has had a great life considering the average lifespan for the feral Potcakes in the Bahamas is 2. I have been in contact with the rescue I got the new puppy from for the past few months. I knew when I lost Sarah that I would love to have another Potcake. But when I lost Samantha the Pyr a couple weeks ago I decided to see what the rescue had available. That was when I saw Jadzia's picture on the website and after talking with the person who runs the rescue I went ahead and adopted her. She is about 10 weeks old and like Sarah came from the Bahamian island of Abaco. Another group called Underdogs to the Rescue picked her up in Georgia and brought her up to Rhode Island where I picked her up.
Sarah Jane my first Potcake
Jadzia the new 10 week old Potcake
I know I love going out to the coop to pickup or whatever and come back in dripping with sweat. My daughter found a dog over the weekend that we brought to the ACO. DS said she was very sweet and had an electric fence collar on and was muddy & looked like she'd been out all night. She was also starving so DH fed her. I hope her family finds her!So...chickens are doing alright in the heat, not loving it, but getting by. Me, on the other hand.....
Also- over the weekend we captured a tiny stray kitty. We had animal control come get him in case he needed to see a vet...BUT I couldn't stand it...We can't really have another cat to keep right now, but I called and offered to foster until he is old enough/big enough to be adopted. Looks like he will be here for about 2 weeks. He a long haired tabby- looks maine coonish- SO...if anyone is looking for a sweet kitten, there will be one available for adoption in the near future!
Would that be the Ameracauna Civil Liberties Union??I should think so... with all of the law suits related to gender discrimination, I'm sure the ACLU or some such other organization will be knocking on your door.
