Maine

Well, Im BACK, had all my teeth ripped out, and got some nice falsies , learning how to chew,
then 2 weeks later
went to AZ to visit my folks,,115 deg out, for a week,
got back and the next day had a massive heart attack, got to ride in the meat wagon with lights and sirens blaring,
tossed on a table, striped, ALL BEFORE MY FIRST cup off coffee and cigarette,
2 stints later i feel like I'm 16 instead of 55,,
the ICU nurse asked me if she could get me anything, Yes,,,a coffee and a cigarette
she came back with my coffee and as i took a sip slapped a nicotine patch on me, saying,,heres your coffee and cigarette,
the coffee was water,,,giggling as she left,,,,
,

the G?F has been taking care of the chicks, but i thing there glad to see me again, at least the dogs are, (more daily bone treats)
Gawd we need some rain, only have 6 jars of pickles made up,,dang drought,,,

anyways, please give me your thoughts on my white brahma,,,Girl or Boy ?

Did an experiment yesterday and put my two 1 1/2 yr old comets in with the yungones, all was fine until the two oldies rounded the yunguns
up in a corner and started nipping at them,,,,SEPARATION ill wait some more before i do it again, there a little over half the size of my comets,

IF and I'm hoping it is, a BOY-ROO will it get gutsy enough to protect her girls from the older comets?

HAVE A GOOD DAY FOLKS, and thank your GOD for each one, as a blessing,
cheers
John

Wow oldfartfarmer, what an ordeal! Glad you are alive to tell the story and back home with your dogs and chickens.
I am bad a sexing chickens, but I think your Brahma is a pullet. How old is she?

Thanks, she looks totally different than my other one, as having a wider area there, and the dimples/pimples on each side,
the other is well defined with one ridge,
there about 11 weeks near as i can tell

cheers to all,
John

Have a broody hen today. If I can get a spot set up for her, and she stays the nest, I may let her set some eggs. Don't like the cockrel I picked out to go with the main flock. So, hoping to hatch a nice little cockrel to spend the winter learning how to be a gentleman.

evening all, our Orpingtons are no where near laying yet at 7 weeks old but a friend that has some, 1.5 year olds, is only getting 3 -4 eggs a day out of 11 hens, is this normal with the heat and humid weather we have been having?
