Right now very nice. Overall I guess it depends on what you like. I hate hot weather. Anything over 80 (forgive me for not converting to Celsius) is too hot for me. Temperatures range from well below freezing to three or four days a year above 90.
Depending on where in Maine you are the weather does vary a bit. Closer to the coast it tends to stay a few degrees cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. Not much of a difference but sometimes enough to make things more comfortable.
We do get snow. Usually starts in December and stops in March with the once in a great while April storm. Then we have mud season until everything melts. Followed by black fly season. Also tourist season. That lasts until late fall after all the trees have lost their leaves. Then it is back to winter.
widget, where I live in maine, snow starts in oct and ends in march. don't sugar coat it. I was surprised by a june snow storm a few times. many times we are about zero or 10- 20 below F. and if you don't like the weather, wait a minute, it will change. can you tell I' m not from maine and I hate the weather. especially this yr, it's been in the low 60's and 2 days ago 50's . I'm still waiting to see summer. the one nice thing about winter, it kills lots of bugs outside like fleas otherwise, it could be alot worse.
Ths year the bugs have been worse due to all the rain!
Tourists don't come to Temple...they stay on the coast or near the lakes
Necessary Items: Termal underwear, a snowblower or plow, a woodstove when the power goes out, hardy chickens or lots of heat lamps!
You're right, Hoppy..sugar coating just makes folks move here and then move away!!!
