Thank goodness the coop is under the deck and on the side of the house that gets morning sun. It is 95 here right now with a heat index of 114. The breeze helps to at least circulate the air. The chickens and ducks are hot but have plenty of shade and as of five minutes ago two large pans of cool, fresh water. Of course after five minutes the ducks will make sure it is no longer clean.

The goats are in their shed trying to stay cool. The three horses have gone through about 40 gallons of water today (they have two 70 gallon tanks at their disposal) and the dogs are jockeying for position in front of the fan. Inside house temperature is about 84.

HAhahahaha! SuperChem, I am thinking the same thing here! My poor newfie seems to have melted into a pool of drool on the livingroom floor. My chickens dont seem to even care at all. They happily followed me through berry picking today picking up whatever I dropped.

It's 12:50 am and 84 degrees here. I've got it a nice 74 in the house with the 3 ac units going. I tried setting up a misting nozzle for the chickens today but they all ran in the coop till I shut it off. I'll try again tomorrow. I put a bigger fan in one of the coop windows so they at least have a good steady breeze. The were all panting a bit but I just made sure their water bowls were full at all times.

I've got a small window battery operated fan in the coop... it was still 86 in there this morning. Poor girls. I did spritz down part of their run with water from the hose yesterday, they didn't like it while it was happening, but they really enjoyed it afterwards.

just think its going to be even hotter tomarrow but sunday its going to cool down for a nice break from this heat ive all ready had 2 fans that decided to stop working in here now we are down to 4 celing fans and 2 window fans in the house id wished i hadent been so cheap and put in the ac in our bedroom but i left it sitting in the corner in the cellarand its to hot now to go and move everything to get at it and then carry it up 2 filghts of stairs and put it in
