Okay, I don't have kids, but how about an indoor climbing wall or indoor paintball?

Hoppy, no kids here either but what about ice skating? Or is that too girly (I'm thinking the recent ice hockey tournaments might make them want to do it)?

Do we have laser tag around here? I know there's some paintball here in Vassalboro, not sure it's open yet or too dangerous.

Video games? I think there's a place around here, at least I hear it advertised on the radio for parties...

Could even do a "movie" night at home, order pizza, pop popcorn, let them watch DVDs.

welp we lost our first batch of eggs in the incubator. we have a bunch of eggs in 1 incubator (staggered hatches) and we just set 8 eggs in lockdown in our second incubator. Yep 2 incubators now. one for 1-18 days and the other for 19- hatching. They are due to hatch on 3/29 yet we had 1 pip through this morning (3/28) and it hatched out this afternoon. 4 of the eggs in lockdown are rocking back and forth so looks like we'll have a good hatch. Of course these eggs are our own and will be muts but I'm sure we will have them up for sale. I'm looking for some bantams too. If anyone within 40 minutes of me (Berwicks) has bantam chicks that they could part with let me know. Or I'd even settle for some fertile bantam eggs, I'll pay shipping.

HA! I laugh only because it is just started. I can send photos of the framework tonight, when I am on the big computer. I've seen the hog panel coops you sent a link to in a thread here: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/172799/our-hoop-house-chicken-tractor H.t. Hagan post 122 has a bunch of good photos too. I'm not sure if there is an advantage to the way Jack is building, other than we wanted it larger than hog panels will allow. (jack is over 6 feet and loves the 10 foot ceiling). Perhaps ours is lighter for it's size, because the skids are PVC pipe, not wood. You'll have to send photos if you go for it!

Joanie, - this IS spring! These temperatures and snow are normal. We all just forgot after the 80 degree week!

And don't forget, - April is the cruelest month!

We are looking for a place to have our meaties processed when they are ready in a few weeks. Ideally would like some place in the Raymond/Windham area, but realize we may need to travel a bit. Anyone have any ideas?

I have good news and bad news today.

I'll start with the bad and get it out of the way. I still haven't found a new mate for Daffy but I and other who have been helping me are definately pushing and asking everywhere. Getting some helpful leads and hopefully will have a female very soon.

Now for the good news. I have 18 eggs in the bator. 7 serama (from Castle Delight), 3 silkies (from my backyard) and 8 backyard mutts (also from my backyard). I candled the seramas and silkies and I'm happy to report that I have 5 serama and all 3 silkies are developing! I haven't candled the rest yet because they are all dark shells and I'd like to give them more time before I TRY to see something growing in there.

I really wasn't expecting such a high fertility rate for my silkies because this is their first year but I guess they really know what they're doing

Keep your fingers crossed that my standards also know what they're doing

Ok, I am a little confused on my 3 GLW chicks. I thought they were all supposed to have rose combs, but one looks like it had a single comb. (It also has waddles, at 3 weeks. Maybe a male) I've never had a male Wyandotte before. Are their combs any different ? They all have the same markings, and are the same size. Could it be a male ? (I hope so)
