one of my blue laced red hens is missing, and I don't think she's broody. overall, not a good day. hate when bad news comes in the mail.life goes on.

Update on my puking chicken. She has stopped I used a combination of advice given to me and threads I've read. Crumbles soaked in apple cider vinegar, water, and olive oil combo with probiotic yogurt for three days- just in case anyone has this problem. I also hand puked her a few times and massaged the crop. Her feather are no longer fluffed up and is being more social. Plus, I don't see white spit up around her neck anymore. yesssssssss

So sorry about your forced down-sizing klf73! That would be really hard.
And sorry to hear about your missing hen, Hoppy and mkitchengirl. I hope they both turn up. Is your ankle better, Hoppy?

Blueseal, I really enjoy seeing the photos of other people's flocks. We have ours in an open fenced-in area also. I'd like to get some kind of cheap fencing (snow fence?). I want to set up a circular area with my better fence in particular spots away from the run, and then use snow fence (or something) to make a path from the run to the area where I want them to graze. Mine aren't the just-pick-them-up and move them type. I read that if you put them in your asparagus patch for 5 days after the last harvest, they will take care of all the asparagus beetles without doing much other damage. I'd like to try this as an experiment.
