Maine

Hi. I'm looking for the person who sells silkies at the swaps. I bought a pullet and a cockrel on Mothers day I think and I would like a couple more if I can find out who had them. I bought these guys in Waterville. Any info would be great!

Just about every horse in Maine right now at least in my area in Lincoln County is standing in the mud because of all the rain. I went out to feed and lost a shoe. there's nothing that can be done about it. I worry because I have a 25 year old paint that even though he eats massive quantities of hay stretcher grain and much hay is really hard to keep weight on. people don't understand that by calling the authorities on things that can't be changed they can really impact people's lives .Same as many others my horses and animals come before the 2legs in this house but yes they're walking around in the mud pit .People need to recognize the issue before they start sticking their noses into other peoples business that they know nothing about. I'm glad that people that starve their horses get in trouble but sometimes that doesn't happen till too late. People really need to be clear on what they're complaining about and is it a really necessary complaint before they make that phone call. Good luck to you!

what color were they? cowboy 04901 had silkies at that swap as did I.

swap in waterville this morning, I'm heading out. I had both of those colors this spring so could have been either of us. I've got little babies right now, 5 weeks and under.I'm not setting up this morning, just bringing my dog who will be doing an obedience demo here next weekend. need to get him used to the sites and sounds of what he doesn't see at home.

My roo is a splash and the hen is white. Nice birds. Would like to have a few more.

I've got a big of a chicken emergency..... One of my white rocks, Florence, is wheezing and sneezing. I just noticed this tonight. I wonder if it has to do with the weather- she was out a bit today in the rain...she was sneezing a bunch when I went out to make them go in ( because it started raining again and they were not smart enough to go in on their own...) and she has her mouth opened and makes a sound when she breathes. I brought her in for the night, and she has stopped sneezing. None of the others are showing any symptoms like this...

I'd go get some VetRX..but of course it's past 5 on a sunday. Is there anything else I could do for her? Should I be worried?

I have the same problem started a week ago. I got the VetRx and have been using it but haven't seen a change. I think mine needs antibiotics for upper respiratory infection. A little concerning considering our impending winter. The rain and cold today probably won't do them any good either. I did have the run covered with a tarp so they weren't getting drenched, which is what they usually do! I'll be checking back to see if someone has responded.
