Maine

Better to be safe than sorry. I'd make sure you had enough water for several days for the animals. Granted with several inches of rain possible there will be plenty of standing water around but it may not be fit for consumption. As for the city water folk you shouldn't have to worry about not having any. Losing power shouldn't have any affect. Wells in the other hand rely on power to run the pumps. No power no pump no water.

Extra batteries and working flashlights are a must. Even if this storm doesn't hit us hard another storm will at some point. Same goes for the non-perishable foods. Might as well have them on hand.

Other than that just move anything that the wind can blow or tie it down securely. Expect that things will get very wet. But it will dry out eventually.

We shouldn't see any snow from this either since the storm is tropical in nature and we are for once on the warmer side. People in West Virginia though are expecting heavy snows. Not sure why but my guess would be because they are on the western side of the storm and the colder air to the north and west will be just cold enough to produce snow and not rain.

I'm glad my head is attached or I would lose it. seems someone gave me an egg at the last swap, which I put in the front seat of my car, just remembered last night about it and now I can't find it. I don't think I brought it in the house but i can't find it in the car either, i know in a month this could be a really bad thing if I find it then

it probably is almost time to trade in my car right?

Those are beautiful, Hoppy! Maybe this weekend will be a little less frantic for me than this past one. I would love to take time to come browse.

Last weekend, we were running around doing storm and winter preparations. I've been sick with some lung disease, so it was exhausting!

if you come, please any byc'er introduce yourselves. I might not recognize you, but I'm sure when you see my items, you will recognize me.

Hoppy, when you get a chance, could you message me what sort of cost it would be for one of those glass window art pieces? Or perhaps the garden stone. I'm thinking something like that would be a PERFECT gift for my little brother and sister who's dog passed away.

Gorgeous work!!

Does anyone know of anybody in Maine with Hedamora's?

Almost.
What I mean is I saw an ad on Craigslist this fall. It said they would have Hemedora hatching eggs through the winter. They also had Basques and some other rare breeds (not sure that they were selling those yet) in the Mount Vernon/Belgrade area.

I inquired, but did not get a response. My inquiry was vague though (not "I have cash and want to buy something right now", but more along the lines of "wow, you have Basque, will you be selling them next spring?"). Since then, I have been checking regularly, but have not seen anything. I would love to be able to hatch non-shipped rare breed eggs by just driving down the road a bit.
