Major life conundrums...

if your crazy then welcome to the club.. i told hubby last night that we should sell the retirement home i designed and had custom built less than 2 years ago on 3.5 acres and we should get a smaller house with a big barn so we could raise more animals and pay less taxes and get a wind turbine for power and live off the grid... he looked at me like i was crazy.. then smiled and agreed lol.. so anyone need a custom, super deluxe home? lol.

I would love to live off the grid. I love my chickies and I miss the Llamas bad. I am thinking that raising goats is the way to go. I understand that there is a huge demand for goat meat. I like goats, and chickens. I just don't know how to afford a piece of land, and how get the DH who loves living in a suburban sub-division all together in one place that isn't a suburb. I almost had it all 10 years ago when the suburbs won again. I hate living in suburbia.

B) If you are crazy then so am I. I have that thought every single day.

I love support groups! Hi my Name is Kristen and I'm a chicken/greenaholic... This is not my first meeting. I'm having delusions of living off grid in a yurt... YAY!

It's your life and everyone wants something different for their life to be rewarding to them. You are the only one that can truly know what you really want to do.

As long as you and your husband agree that this is something that you can both live with, you have crossed the first hurdle. Just be sure that this isn't a short term feeling and don't do anything drastic until you know for sure.

There have been very good suggestions as to how you might keep nursing, maybe part time, or change your job situation that would make you happier. Good luck.

When I sold my farm up north, got divorced and moved to Arkansas I told my florange all I needed was 100 acres and a mobile home so that I had enough room for my horses and my poultry.

We looked at one hillbilly shack in desolate nowhere land after another when finally florange told me I had to face the fact that I could not live more than 20 miles from a Pizza Hut. Turned out he was right and I am almost exactly 20 miles from Pizza Hut in a nice house on 34 acres.
