Making the most of it.

Yup, Chaos. I really don't mind mowing though, and I also need the exercise. Probably should now the lawn every day to get back in shape.

DH mowed the back Sunday, so it wasn't as much as usual.
I enjoy mowing it as well. I've got a riding mower though so I don't get the exercise I should but I've got a lot to cut so it gives me time to think.

Takes about an hour to mow mine, when the mower's running, that is We don't have all that much that we're mowing, but it's got a lot o twists & turns. The mower's advertised as the "fastest mower in the industry", which is great, as long as you're mowing a pool table. Anything else, and you'd best slow down, 'specially since it has no brake.

Mines got a brake that I don't use. Just a regular ol cub cadet that doesn't like going up steep hills cause it's got terrible tires on the back. All of those "it's the best at this..." type of things are under ideal conditions going in a straight line. Same with cars. None of it is real world conditions.

Yep, I like mowing....put in some earbuds, crank up the tunes and drive. I just don't like the areas with any sort of angle, have an unreasonable fear of topping over

Same here....one side of the front is fast and easy because it's a big rectangle, the other side has you working around the pond with turns and little pieces. ...same out back, tiny area because we fenced so much off for the pasture which just makes it harder, before the pasture it was a huge flat open square back there. Neighbor has one of the really big, nice zero turns and the same lot we do without the pasture and pond to deal with, I envy how he zips around. He lent us his mower once while ours was down, HUGE pain in the a@@ trying to use it over here.

I don't mind the hills. Which is probably a good thing because I've got about 4 of them that I have to cut. Never had it tip over on me but have been up on two wheels and bucked off it a couple times.

Mine's just about the right size for here, with big ag tires on the back. A regular 'Harry Homeowner" riding mower with small "turf" tires, would never work here. Plus, the 24hp engine's big enough to handle most anything, within reason. I've mowed my pasture with it a few times when the grass & weeds were chest high. Got to go slow, & make 4 or 5 passes, but it eventually gets the job done.

I don't worry much about flipping it; it's pretty wide in back. If it gets that steep, I'll mow sideways.

The older Cub Cadets were good machines, when IH was making them. Since MTD started making most of them, you couldn't give me one. I had two MTD mowers; neither of them was worth the powder & shot to blow them to h3ll. For a regular rider, the old Wheel Horse was hard to beat.

HA! Reminds me of a guy at work bragging about a fast mower..and I asked is your yard smooth enough to go that fast...his face just fell and he said h didn't think about that.
I've got an '87 JD L&G 216, little tank, throws and mows...but it kills my bad knee to work the clutch/brake...part of land I have to walk mow. Am dreading mowing season.

We've got three sections of lawn, about 1/4 acre of grass total. The big section has big trees, roots, old stumps the PO never dug out, and sprinklers that stick up randomly. Not riding mower friendly. The back yard and the courtyard are small and chopped up, too.

Push mower it is, but we have an older Toro 2cycle that works like a champ.
