I had one 'last to hatch' during my last incubation that came out with it's 'lunch bucket' peeking out.
I started to recede but it came back out crawling over something, I put it out of it's misery.
Livestock / Deadstock....stinks, but true.

Wow, what an incubator! Hey, I've seen folks use less...and it worked!

Its okay. This has been an amazing experience. I will miss my chicks when I hand them over to my nieces. I gave number 9 time to make a recovery but he didn't... It's just a part of good chicken keeping.

Sometimes it is hard to do. But, I can not stand to watch something suffer. Congrats on the incubator working!

What a wonderful experience. Glad you had as many hatch as you did. Even with the loss its still learning. Great chick pics too. Giving me the itch for sure

So my babies are in their brooder all if as a bug and the biggest wind storm of this year hits us.... Another reason not to hatch in winter.... Gas heater box is on and going... Not for me but the babies.

Man you can hear it so loud... The trees breaking and whipping around. The boys excited about the power outage.... Little Jerry is out on the coop thinking he is protecting his girls but instead he is just getting wind blown, I guess it's the thought that counts. Me... I'm just happy I kept my phone charged and I have my flashlight handy. All else fails I will have all four boys snuggling up with me. Good night.

My sister got the results of her ct scan and I am thrilled!!! She ha two broken ribs from coughing from that nasty cold that was going around. This is great news cause we took her in not being able t breath great and pain... Her X-ray showed a spot in her lung... It's been nothing but worry for two weeks. She had her scan Friday and today they say the mass in her lung was blood clots from her broke ribs. So we are happy it's not what we were dreading but now that we know..... It seems I will be taking care of these chicks longer than expected. Got to giver her time to heal and the nieces time to help out. So now I am canceling the New Year's Day HAL so I can focus on taking care of these nbabies for her... I am relieved even if it means I get to chick sit for a lot longer than planned... Who am I kidding, I love these chicks already!!!!!
