Aren’t there different strains/types of Malays?Wings aren't held tight, & folded either.View attachment 2793119Older Malay pullet picture as an example.
The guy I got them from has been breeding Malays for 5yrs. Not sure if he has other orientals, or this is some sort of mix up by accident.
I don't know any other strains, except Indio Gigantes. The breeder I got these ladies from had really great quality Malays of Red Wheaten, Wheaten, Black, & BB Red/Wildtype. The body type of the birds from the pictures were correct, just not these ladies which is a bit confusing.Aren’t there many different strains/types of Malays?
So who are you keeping? How do you choose who to keep? Or do you keep all of them? The Malays are turning 20 weeks tomorrow.
I'm keeping the biggest dark blue Wheaten cockerel, the Khaki cockerel, & the two pullets. So who are you keeping? How do you choose who to keep? Or do you keep all of them?
Do you show birds?I'm keeping the biggest dark blue Wheaten cockerel, the Khaki cockerel, & the two pullets.
The lighter Blue Wheaten cockerel is an extra I'm gonna get rid of.
How do I choose to keep? I choose by looking at distinct characteristics, like how fast they grow, size, body type, weight, & behavior.
