Ive never owned a curly, but from what I have heard and seen from pictures, they seem to have sparse feathering.

http://www.feathersite.com/Poultry/CGD/Friz/WhatMakesFriz.html says:
......Thus, the reason for not breeding Frizzle to Frizzle: It causes the bird to have less feather follicles and thus will cause the bird to come out with a dozen feathers and be bald over the body and intolerant of the sun or the cold weather. Curlys are a no-no in the Frizzle breeding.

There is more info there if you want to read it!

Is there anyone that raises seramas in oklahoma? I have had NO luck finding a breeder or them....

I finally have a broody Serama! Stella, aka Drumstick, has planted her butt in a corner, yay!

She is my typiest hen, and although the standard sets a maximum number of toes and no minimum, she has a hard time posing on her stumps.

She has decided to make herself useful in another way, so I gave her a couple of her own eggs, and I'm crossing my fingers that they're fertile. They're super tiny eggs, and they're smaller at the air sac end.

If they turn out to be duds, I have plenty of other eggs to swap them out with. Being a first time broody, and with no feet with which to keep up with babies, I've chosen to only give her two. Everyone cross your fingers for Stella!

If it helps any, I've found that my Serama all comb out early and if the comb is orangish, they are usually pullets!

What if they are little roos? Then what color is the comb usually?

Red.
