I don't know... let them pick, and hope they have bad luck, taking all the males? lol

How old are they? (We are talking about Serama right?)

They love to clean up melon rinds, overripe bananas, leftover popcorn, eggs, ect! I throw out sunflower seeds every couple of days. The other day, I gave them a rice dish that I had made and didn't like so much. If I find a den of worms when I'm gardening, I'll call them over, and last night I shared an ice cream cone with a pullet I'm taming for showing. Other than that, just crumbles.

If you want to show your birds, treats are your best friend! I shared an ice cream cone last nite (she ate the nust off the top) with a cute pullet that I had not previously handled, and she never left my lap!

Re: ~MALAYSIAN SERAMA THREAD~ (PICS!!!)I have a bunch of chicks I hatched and I want to grow out, I know I need to sell some and this women wants to pick some up from me but how do you decied which ones go and which stay??? Its such a hard choice! I want to keep them all. But with my luck I would end up with all roosters and who needs that..lol Although I can handle a Serama roo over a Wyandotte rooster anyday!
Tell the lady that if she lets you grow them out a bit, she will better be able to choose. Of course, you will also, and you can hold back the ones you want to keep.

I am getting the trio from PJs Seramas owned by Jack Payne. I dont know exactly what colors yet, but he said he had a good variety!
I've met the Payne's, and I think they are very friendly, good people! They have really nice birds also!

Someon posted a topic before about serama chicks having feathers on their legs. Someone responded saying they dissapear as they get older. Has anyone seen this trait stick? I know it's not desirable for a true type or show serama but I think it would be cute to see a serama with feathered legs, lol.

I would really like to pick up a chocolate pullet or two, does anyone have any they will sell, or planning on selling?

I'm not sure if my hen genetically is chocolate or not, but once I get them moved and settled I plan on selling hatching eggs. She looks almost "chocolate laced", but it could be something else entirely.

I think so too! I love how he's mottled. I'm hoping that maybe he'll throw some mottled or Mille Fleur-ish patterned babies!

Booted Seramas are shown in their own category, and they compete for BB in the SCNA! They aren't nearly as feathered as Cochins or Silkies, but there is a definate difference to the clean-legged variety. Somebody named Clarence, code name Dixiebirds, has developed a line of them. Used to sell on eggbid, don't know where he goes now.

Edited because I got Clarence's farm name wrong!
