I am so excited..so much to do...so much to learn... I just had, I understand, one, if not THE best breeder in the country agree to get me started with 2 breeding trios!!!!! He will ship the first week of May if weather permits between here and Florida. I have not seen then yet but he described 6 gorgeous birds. I've been told by many that he is the best judge of serama and most honest person they have ever met. I believe that to be true in just my few conversations with this breeder... so much to do to get ready.. I feel like an expectant mommy! I guess I'm due the first week of May! Thank you Deborah, Jen, Dixie and everyone from the Northwest National Poultry show last weekend for all your help and encouragement. I'm i and hubby is realing from the cost, but it's less than a really good puppy so whoppity do! Thar be Serama on my horizon!!!!

Back in the day I had to wait until I was 7 to be eligible to join 4-H! I have to find out if my son can join now. He LOVES our birds.

It's good for kids. Gives them motivation, ambition, responsibility, and it's never too early to start up a hobby. He'll be 5 in August.

They are expensive but sooo worth it! I've had many different chickens in my past because I loved the variety, but these little seramas have the best of everything: variety, personality, spunk, affection, and so many interesting quirks (my hen will fly across the room if she thinks I have cheese - which she found out she loved when she stole out of my son's hands one day)! I LOVE their extensive pruning and vigorous tail swishing! They're a bird to behold. Who couldn't love a serama? Congratulations!!

Just as soon as I get my birds I will figure out how to post pictures. Right at the moment I have a 6 week old (pet quality) serma named Beatrice playing on the back of my neck with my hair! We've only had her for a week and she's the reason we decided to take the plunge. If even some of them have her personality it's worth it and I'd like to get into showing them. I've never done that. Should be fun! Beatrice was in the Skamania Pioneer newspaper I'm told yesterday. Just as a lark when we bought her at the show I had them take her picture. The official photographer wasn't busy so we stuck her in an Easter basket and it made the paper!

I hope the young boy I got her from knows she's loved. Thank you for showing her to me. She is so dorkey looking she's cute.

My little roo is constantly preening my hair! If my hen and roo aren't preening themselves or eachother, they're trying to preen me or my husband. They're funny! I call them "busy beaks".

Hey peeps my life has been kinda backwards, movin and sutch. I was contacted my a man in Louisana who was looking for seramas, i send him to Grady, cant remember his name, he was a grandpa. But if you are the man i was talking to on the phone or know him. PM Me I guess Grady just send a trio and a pair for his grandchild!! I want to know what he thinks. I know when i have bought birds from other people i feel as though i am getting their culls, kinda a slap in the face, wry tail, yellow or white lobes and one 22 oz bird. I was going to give up on sermas, then I as introduced to GRADY, all i had to say when i open the box was WOW and it ws in a good way.. MHO He will take the time to send you pictures and he can even tall you the pediree of your animals!!

So I wasn't going to mention his name since I did not know proper protocal, but yes, it's Grady. What a lovely man. I have enjoyed every minute of speaking with him and can not wait to have my DH have the priviledge. Can't wait for my birdies either!!! I still think I'm a bit nuts to take on another time consuming activity! There are not enough hours in the day now. I'm investigating incubators, planning the addition to my chicken town, the poultry palace, and condos east and west as we call it now. I guess this will be the "uptown" section, judging by the difference in monetary value of the residents. LOL!

Grady is a good friend of mine and yes, extremely knowledgeable and a great person. All my breeders are from his championship lines and I'm very proud of my birds as a result!

Yes Grady is so very nice! I was thrilled to spend a couple hours with him learning and looking at the birds. There was not an ugly bird there! I was way out of my league! I actually just wanted some culls LOL. He was so sweet to me. I don't want to breed them or sell them or anything. Just pet them but he still took his time and showed me every bird there and told me what was good about them and what needed improving. His birds are so pretty so anything you get is gonna be nice! Congratulations!
