Male duck not mating

I have a 11 month old call drake and a buff duck hen. My hen flirts with him, she'll bob her head and nibbles at him in the pool.... she'll dissapear into the pool for 5 seconds and bite his feet and than come back onto the water laying completely flat.. the male shows no intrest except for biting back. Help?

Are you sure it's a male? Could they be mating, just not in front of you?

Yep hes a male.. hes got the curly tail feather and raspy quack

He possibly is too small to cover her..?..Not interested in her flirts...

Well I won't be helpful then lol. I did have one drake that wasn't interested in a certain female who 'flirted' with him, but he mated the other females I had. I never knew why nobody mated her, she was smaller than her siblings so I wonder if certain drakes are looking for strong females (This is only an assumption, not an educated guess)? Is your female in good health and size?
