I have two ducks I got this year, they must be close to 20 weeks now. Both have drake feathers, so are apparently males. In the last few weeks they have had behavioral changes that I think may be sexual maturity issues. They were terrified of me previouly...which hurt my feelings...because I've always been more than kind to them....now they like me a little too much. They fight roughly with each other and especially when I try and pet one; the other one will go after him and really go at it. Where they used to only run from me, now they follow me all over. I'm tentative about petting them, because they are looking to nip my fingers. I have a feeling it's a dominance issue...so I'm not letting them get away with that behavior. I'm hoping they grow out of this! When they act this way, or fight, I will pick one up and hold him for a bit. They don't bite so far when I hold them. Insight please? These are my first ducks...
