Male or female - 4 weeks old

Is it possible to identify gender at 4 weeks old chick? No breed but the legs are hairy, so it has some breed mix.

Well, first... I would NEVER hold a chick or a chicken like that, by the wings. If they struggle they could easily pull a muscle or tendon, or worse: break a wing.

That said, Its early yet to judge gender for certain on a chick that age, let alone a brahma that age. I can't tell if the face is flushed because it's stressed or if its because its a cockerel.

I'd guess cockerel by the width of the comb, but I wouldn't hang my hat on it this early.

edit: And this is a light brahma.

Thank you! It's a long story, but someone gave eggs to my neighbor and then my neighbor gave them to me to hatch. The person holding the chick is the neighbor from a nearby farm. I was so annoyed by him holding it like that, and I told him,but he wouldn't listen. We thought it is a mut, thank you for identifying the breed! Do you have an article or somewhere I could read about features of male Vs female Brahmas?

I don't, sorry. But make sure you look up light brahma as opposed to dark brahma. Dark brahma are the only ones of the recognized breeds that are sexually dimorphic; meaning males and females look differently. Light brahmas don't have this trait.

Feathers on saddle area is a good indication, plus wings feather, pinker/red face and comb. The female's are supposed to have almost flat combs while the male's have a kind of more prominent triple pea combs.

yes, which is the same for any pea combed breed. You won't see those differences for some time, however.
