Mine are constantly making some kind of noise unless they are asleep. The "mama call" seems to drop off in frequency over time.

Someone's chirping her bloody head off, so I go upstairs to find......chicks just playing in the dirt! "Scabby Navel" is to the left.

I promise to give them real names at some point, but she's the only one I can distinguish. She's rounder than the others too.

I have a chick that likes to cheep super loud. I always check and there is never anything wrong. Luckily it never does it in the middle of the night. Overall though they are happy but vocal!

I have purchased an Eco-Glow heater. I am wondering if I put a towel over it and put shavings on top and around it if it will work as a warm "cave"?

Got them moved out to the coop, it's about 50* outside today and I have it set on 5? Can someone remind me, I tried to find it in the thread but lol! Severa f them are huddled on top, some are sleeping, others are doing the little quiet chirps and some are underneath mama. Does that sound right? Trying to figure out what to set the HP on?

You can pop it up to 6 for an hour or so until they get more accustomed to the cooler ambient temps, if it eases your mind. You can always set it back to a lower temp if they won't go in at all because it's too warm. I start my chicks outdoors so I don't have to worry about them so much about them having to acclimate. It sounds like they are fine - some on top, some underneath, others exploring, so remember that huddling can not only indicate chilling but total insecurity. They cling to each other because they are familiar to each other. Keep us posted.

Time to start paying my dues ... went to big R

HW cloth with a HP (no auto off confirmed) inside it, then inside a zipper travel pillow case,bungeed and a towel over top...
open at both ends with towel draped over..sure got quite when I took them out of the box and put them under MHP
