Mama 'hen' is actually a duck

My one duck seems to have taken on the role of the mama for my 8 chicks. They are all about 7 weeks old now. The chicks will follow the duck around everywhere she goes and will never be too far away from her. Whenever there is danger, they always crowd around her. it is so cute.
I think one of my chicks is a roo. Any opinions? It is the black and white one.
