Hey everyone , we recently got 5 baby chicks who are now 3 weeks old . 2 of them are Marans and since we got them I have had a feeling that one is a male . I was looking up different ways to tell and found one page that showed pictures to determine gender from the wings (even though it’s not 100% accurate) I was wondering if you all think it’s a male as well ? The 4 other chicks are starting to get lots of feathers that cover most of their bodies and their baby chick fluff is already pretty much gone .. but this one has a shorter wings, mostly baby fluff still and has a much different personality than the other 4..

Yes, I think male bc of the comb development.

We had several straight run Maran (Black, Blue and Splash). Here they are at 6 weeks and the combs are very different between M/F - pretty sure you can tell the males from the females! So, the girls had essentially no comb growth at 6 weeks, but the males certainly did.
